FAQs:
What ages can attend VBS?
Children going into PK-12th grade in the fall of 2022 are welcome to attend.

How can I register?
You can register your child for VBS here. You can register up to 4 children from the same family on one form. If you need more space, please submit another registration.

What group will my child be placed in?
Children will be grouped by grade level. The activities and lessons are designed to be age appropriate and fun for each group.

Can my child be in a group with a sibling or friend?
We try to accommodate requests if possible. If there is space available in the group and the material would be age appropriate, we can place siblings and friends together. VBS is a great opportunity to make new friends as well!

My child has food allergies. How will that be handled?
Please note any allergies on the registration form. If there is a conflict with the snack planned, an alternate snack will be provided. If you prefer to provide a specific snack for you child, please speak with your child’s group leader.

My child has a medical condition or other special needs. How will that be handled?
Please note any medical conditions we should be aware of on the registration form and speak with their group leader. We offer a sensory room for children who would benefit from a quiet break from the VBS excitement.

What is the cost to attend VBS?
There is no cost to attend VBS! Thanks to generous donations from our congregation, we are pleased to provide VBS to the community at no charge. We will collect an item for Operation Christmas Child each day, but it is optional. See “What is the Operation Christmas Child collection?” in the FAQ section for more information.

What should my child bring to VBS?

A smile! There are no supplies needed. Children should bring as little as possible. The groups move from room to room, and items are easily lost. If you child has special medical or physical needs, please speak with their group leader. There will be a daily collection of specific items for Operation Christmas Child. A list will be distributed on Monday of VBS week.

What is the Operation Christmas Child collection?
Operation Christmas Child is an organization that collects shoeboxes packed with toys, personal hygiene items, and school supplies and distributes the boxes to children around the world. You can learn more about Operation Christmas Child here.
Here are the daily themes and suggested items to bring:
Tuesday: “WOW” item - small toy, game, clothing
Wednesday: School Supplies - scissors, notebooks, pencils, pencil sharpeners
Thursday: Personal Care Items - soap, washcloth, toothbrush, nail clippers
Friday: Flashlights and batteries

Visit the Operation Christmas Child website for more ideas and information. A list of items being collected will also be distributed on Monday of VBS week.
Save time and let us do the shopping for you! You can pre-purchase a pack with all of the week’s items for $10. Packs include a small toy or game, scissors, pencils and a pencil sharpener, soap and a washcloth, a toothbrush, and a flashlight with extra batteries. Your child will be given the daily item to donate during the collection time. During the program on Sunday there will be a collection to help cover the $9 per box shipping cost.

What time should my child arrive at VBS?
If you have not pre-registered your child, please plan to arrive at 5:45 pm on Monday to complete the registration forms. If you have pre-registered, you do not need to arrive early. All other days you can arrive at 5:55p.

Where should I drop off and pick up my child?

Please park your vehicle and walk your child into the building through the front double doors. Stop at the registration table to pick up your child’s name tag. At pick up, please park your vehicle and walk into the building through the front double doors. For the children’s safety, a parent/guardian must pick them up from the Sanctuary.

My child can’t attend the entire week, is that ok?
Yes! We would love to have your child at VBS, even if it’s not for the full week.

Will there be any other activities in addition to VBS week?

During VBS week the children will be working hard preparing for their presentation of “The Evening News Hour”, a fun telling of the nativity story. The program will be Sunday morning at 10:30am. Following the program, we will host a church cookout.
